More Chips & Salsa... (Please)

Didn't walk today. I didn't yoga today. I did some small floor exercises but I'm running a low grade temperature and am pretty sure that I have an ear ache (which apparently are pretty common during trimester if you are resting a lot). http://www.momjunction.com/articles/precautions-to-keep-ear-infections-at-bay-during- pregnancy_0079271/#gref My ear has this crazy horrible pressure and my head is quite sore.  Everly has been the sweetest love bug though.  She has been full of hugs and kisses all day long.  We made it to church, online, that is... Dutchess has been keeping my company on the couch, guarding my tummy all day long while The Hubs has been puttering around straightening, playing video games and doing manish type stuff in the house, close by, in case I need anything. The day has been slow but steady and I am grateful for all the chips and salsa.  Man -oh- man! I can't get enough chips and salsa.  Yesterday it was a long string of pasta for da...

For the Love of Pasta...

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure when my relationship with pasta began.  I would assume as a child. Maybe with Mac-n-Cheese or some of my mother's vegetable spaghetti.  Whatever the case may be, it doesn't matter because the relationship just grows stronger with each passing year.  Pasta has been the only food that I've been able to keep down (for the most part).  Creamy Alfredo, Cajun linguini, tomato basil spaghetti... all have treated me well.  In small doses every three to four hours.  If I get queasy I know it's time to eat again.  I've tried everything from soup to gingerale and boring salt-less crackers.  Pasta has been the best option, no greasy meats though.  Also no juices, especially pineapple juice.  That was a nightmare.  A straight nightmare for several hours... YUCK! As much as my tummy is loving the pasta (with little sauce), I think The Hubs is tired of the Italian buffet.  Also, with the lack of exercise... ...

You're Glowing...

Since discovering that we are expecting our second child, I have ballooned.  I say that while I also SMH in slow defeat.  Twelve pounds.  Twelve pounds in ten weeks.  I hadn't gained twelve pounds by week fourteen with Everly.  With Everly I started at 129 lbs and ended up at 153 lbs.  The doctors were extremely happy.  In this exact moment, I weigh a whopping 143 lbs.  I was beyond convinced that we were having twins.  The morning sickness has been awful, terribly, unsettling to my daily routine.  I haven't been able to keep up the three times a week jogs.  I tried replacing them with longer, slower walks but have discovered the summer heat adds to the vomiting.  I look as though I'm already into my second trimester.  The worst part- being told by the ultrasound tech and the nurse that I am NOT expecting twins, after having made a very big bet with The Hubs about said number of babies growing in my already protruding bel...

Happily Ever After...

The Hubs and I met almost five years ago.  I was in the dregs of  a bad relationship.  A failing relationship that had ended.  With someone else.  Also, The Hubs , well... he might be a tad younger than me.  A few years.  However, six years ago; eh, that felt like a much further gap.  I was ready to start planting roots.  I wanted to lay out my gardening utensils and start preparing my victory garden for life.  You know; children, forever home, rocking chair(s) on the front porch (his and hers) , fresh peonies in clear vases through-out our modern but vintage decor, a great dental plan, Saturday brunches and big Sunday family dinners, matching bicycles, and a lemon tree or cherry tree (depending on the climate of course).  The Hubs was just past legal drinking age.  Do I need to say much more.  I felt like a wise old woman.  He was handsome, witty and slightly charming.  We dated briefly. It was good.  He...

The Clock Strikes Midnight...

... I'm lying.  It's nine forty two p.m. central standard time in Abilene Kansas.  With a population of less than seven thousand, people do tend to turn in a bit early.  We tuck in our little ones and star gaze from big wrap around porches ( you're assuming that's what we do and I don't blame you because there are some pretty awesome stargazing weather friendly nights here in Abilene).  The porch thing is how we usually start our mornings too.  Ah, sleepy weekend mornings.  I've lost my train of thought though.  Sorry about all the hubbub. It's almost ten now and this will be my first ever blog post.  I'd love to say there are no nerves but... that'd be a lie too.  Recently I have found myself without employment and my dear, sweet, and awfully wonderful husband ( The Hubs from here on out) suggested I embrace the change.  Especially since we've also recently discovered we are expecting our second bundle of joy come next January. The d...
